Some of the well-resourced, high street food brands have started to re-open some of their stores, or have announced plans to, in takeaway and delivery formats, whereas lockdown ‘exit day’ for smaller, independent operators in the café and coffee shop sector is uncertain. 

Many are still getting to grips with government initiatives to help out financially, at the same time adjusting their business models to offer online purchases and takeaway and delivery options; with an eye, too, on how the very nature and infrastructure of their premises might have to be modified to meet new regulations.
